Mitch Albom - Latest Release

Found one of my favourite author Mitch Albom latest release -  "The First Phone Call from Heaven"
from the local bookstore. Well, i haven't got it yet, because i have a numbers of book yet to be finished.

Hai-O Bamboo Salt vs Edible Salt and Sea Salt

I. Edible Salt

Edible Salt also known as Sodium Chloride. Salt is produced from salt mines or by the evaporation of seawater or mineral-rich spring water in shallow pools. It is most widely use in cooking and at the table, salt is present in many processed foods. Too much sodium in the diet raises blood pressure and increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. The World Health Organization recommends that adults should consume less than 2,000 mg of sodium (5 grams of salt) per day. However due to modern dietary and fast food, we consume more than we suppose. High salt intake is associated with a significantly greater risk of stroke and total cardiovascular disease in susceptible people.

II. Sea Salt

Sea salt is salt produced from the evaporation of seawater. It is used in cooking and cosmetics. It is also called bay salt or solar salt. Like mineral salt, production of sea salt has been dated to prehistoric times. Some cooks believe it tastes better than salt from mines. However, there is little or no health benefit to using sea salt over other forms of sodium chloride salts.

According to The Mayo Clinic and Australian Professor Bruce Neal, the health consequences of ingesting sea salt or regular table salt are the same, as the content of sea salt is still mainly sodium chloride. However, a study found the amount of trace elements, such as titanium, silver, cobalt, and lead in synthetic sea salt are much higher than those in sea water. The magnitude of the difference can be as large as 104.
